A retro, 8-bit style, interactive storybook for kids involving a time travelling caveman, available for iPhone and iPad.
Bit is a simple caveman, living in a world of pixels. Wonderful dinosaurs and animals roam the forests of Pixel Land and Bit loves it there. But everything changes when he finds himself frozen in a block of ice…
Thawed out millions of years later by strange creatures from the future, Bit has to find a way back to his own time... Will you help him?
Aimed at kids aged between 4-8 years old, however even younger kids can enjoy the app and adults will love the retro mini games.
Bit’s story is completely interactive. Kids must help him explore his world and complete tasks along the way. Some of the highlights you’ll encounter:
Kids can visit the arcade and play some classic retro video games. Whack some moles, shoot the invaders from space or help the little penguin across the lake. Unlimited replays, no quarters needed!
Funnily enough, Pixel Land is made of pixels! All the trees, rivers, volcanoes and animals are rendered in colourful, 8-bit style. That is, until Bit ends up in another time where things aren’t quite the same…
Belgian comedian, Alex Agnew, narrates our story and takes you through Pixel Land with his range of funny voices. The story can be read in either English or Dutch.
Included in the app are 24 animated stickers to play with in iMessage.
There are no in-app purchases in Bit. Everything is available from the first time you play. Bit is ideal for 4-8 year olds, but even the younger kids can join in the fun.
Available from March 16th 2017.
Designed for iPad, iPhone & iPod Touch. Requires iOS9 or newer.
Our goal is to make fun, high quality apps with creative and educational value for kids. We want kids to be able to play safely without parents worrying about in-app purchases or third party advertising. Instead, they should be concentrating on having fun!
Wee Taps are a Belgium based duo whose kids games include Wee Trains, Wee Puzzles, Wee Rockets, Wee Subs & Sleepasaurus.
Originally from Ireland and now living in Belgium, Paddy has over 10 years experience illustrating and designing for the likes of Foursquare, Sony, Sanoma, SpaceInch, Brewbot, Mobile Vikings, dConstruct & Perch. Nowadays Paddy gets to make a living drawing dinosaurs and his 5 year old self is very happy about this.
Father of two young boys, Alain has developed apps for Studio 100, Ketnet, Blokken, Zapp Live & Sanoma, however creating apps for his own kids gives him the greatest satisfaction. Having two expert product testers at home is great, as we can learn the correct colour a T-Rex and which train engines are best.
